The Italian tradition of street painting dates to the 16th century when itinerant artists would travel from town to town for religious festivals and transform the streets and public squares into temporary galleries for their works of art. Although their paintings lasted only until the next rain, the tradition has endured for more than 400 years.

Lee Jones, whose artwork is represented below and on the home page, is an award winning artist and renowned street painter. She will bring her talent to Safety Harbor for the Bloom N Garden N Chalk Fest. Watch her transform a sidewalk on Main Street into one of her masterpieces on March 28th and 29th. Ms. Jones will conduct a free workshop for participating artists on Saturday, March 14th from 10-1 at the Rigsby Center.
